Madinah
The second most holy city to all Muslims after Makah Al-Mukkaramah. Al-Madinah used to be call Yathrib before the prophet changed the name to  Madina al Rasool or simply Al Madinah.Yathrib is the name of the person who established this city around 1000 B.C.  
When the Prophet Mohammad(Peace Be Upon Him) came to Al-Madinah in 622 A.D, this date became the first day of the Islamic calendar.
It now has more than 90 names which shows that the famous and respected. In Madinah there are many important places of Islamically legal, historic and cultural significance to visit.
Such as Qubaa’ Mosque, Baqi’a Al-Gharqad, and the Graves of the Martyrs of the Battle of Uhud, which is near Mountain Uhud.
 
1.Islamic University:-

University was founded in 1961 as a school for higher education specializing in Islamic subjects. Approximately 80% of the 6,000 enrolled students are international students from all over the world. The university is culturally diverse and boasts almost all nationalities from across the globe.


2.Madinah Library:-

It was founded by late Sheikh Ahmed Yasin in 1352 hijra.The library remain open for public between 7 a.m to 9 p.m.

3.Abdulaziz Library:-

It was star building during King Faisal’s era and establish in King Fahad time.The library is famous for all old and new books of various topics.


4.Saqeefa Bani Sa’da:-

Saqifa Bani Saeda, a place not far from the Prophet (S.A.W)’s house as to who should succeed Mohammad (S.A.W). Saqifa Bani Saeda was a shedded place in Madina which belonged to the tribe of Bani Saeda, where generally notorious people assembled to hatch conspiracies or plan dacoities.


5.Masjid Qiblatain:- 

In this mosque, Allah directed Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was in the middle of a sal’at along with sahaba karam , to turn his face from Islam’s first qibla (Bait-ul-Muqqadis) to Ka’bah in Masjid al-Haram.

6.Masjid-e-Umar:-

 For information of visitors the mosque is located behind Telephone exchange situated next to Masjid-e-Ghamama.


7.Masjid-e-Ali:-

 Ali-mosque is an important mosque situated very near to Masjid-e-Nabvi and it is believed that fourth Caliph Ali used to live there. It is towards west of Masjid-e-Nabvi.


8.Ruins of Masjid-e-Zarrar:-

 Those Muslims who were having ties with Non-Muslims and Jews of Madina built this mosque and all planning was done here in order to cause harm to the true followers of Islam and Holy Prophet (PBUH). To save Muslims from the harm of such people this mosque was destroyed and burnt on the orders of Holy Prophet (PBUH). The ruins of the mosque are still present for people to see and learn lesson.


9.Masjid-e-Meeqat:-

(Bir-Zulhalifa, Abyar-e-Ali). This mosque was built at a point twelve kilometers outside the city of Madina Munawarra declared as Meeqat for pilgrims. Here a well is present which is called Ali’s Well and the place is also called as Abyar-e-Ali. All buses / vehicles going to Makkah stop here and pilgrims change into Ihrams here.


10.Masjid Ghamama:-

 The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to offer his Eidain prayers here. Once the Prophet led Istasqa prayer in it and suddenly the clouds appeared and it started raining, hence the name ghamama (clouds).

11.Masjid-e-Bilal:- 

This mosque is situated near the date market, which is adjacent to the shopping market of Masjid-e-Nabvi. If time is available one must visit the mosque and offer Nawafil there.


12.Masjid Umm Ibrahim bin Muhammad:-

It is situated in Awali to the north of Masjid Bani Qurayz. Sayyidina Ibrahim was born there. The Prophet Muhammad prayed here as well.


 13.Masjid Suqya:-

There is a dome inside a railway station near Bab ‘Anbariyah. It is known as Qubbah Ra’us. On his way to Ghazwah Badr, the Messenger of Allah offered his prayers there.

14.Masjid Ahzab / Masjid Fath:-

It is on the western corner of Jabl Sala’. When the unbelievers had united together in the Ghazwah Ahzab and attacked Madinah and the trench was dug, the Messenger of Allah made a supplication for three days. Allah granted the prayer and the muslims emerged victorious.


15.Masjid Jum’a:- 

This mosque was built at a place where the Prophet (peace be upon him) offered his first Jum’a prayer when arrive in Madinah.

16.Masjid Fazeekh:-

It is situated on the east of Awali. The Messenger of Allah had offered his prayers here at the time of siege of Bani Nadir. Fadih is the wine from dates. The mosque takes its name from an incident involving Sayyidina Ayyub Ansari and his companions while they were drinking wine. It was here that the verse disallowing intoxicants was revealed.


17.Masjid Bani Qurayzah:-

It is a little distance from Masjid Fadih to the east. The Messenger of Allah had camped here during during the siege of the Bani Qurayzah.


18.Masjid Bani Zafar / Masjid Baghalah:-

It is on the boundary of Harrah Waqim to the east of Baqi. The Banu Zafar used to live there. A stone near the mosque bears the mark of the hoof of the mare of the Prophet.


19.Masjid Ijabah:-

It is to the north of Baqi near Bustan Saman. The Prophet Muhammad prayed there.


20.Masjid AbuBakar:- 

Just 40 yards away from Masjid-e-Ghamama, this small mosque is located. It is believed that first Caliph used to live here and after his house was demolished this mosque was built at the exact same site.

21.Masjid Ubayy:-

It is next to Baqi. The Prophet Muhammad visited the mosque frequently.


22.Masjid Bani Haram:-

It is on the way to Masjid Fath in the valley of Jabl Sala’ on the right side. The Prophet Muhammad offered prayers here too. There is a cave nearby where he had received a revelation.


23.Masjid Zubab:-

As one gets down Thaniah Al-Wada’ on the road to Jabl Uhad the Jabal Zubab is on the left side. That’s where the mosque is located. The Prophet prayed there too.
  

24.Masjid Sajadah / Masjid Al-Buhayr:-

It is between Bustan Buhayri and Bastin Sadaqah. The Prophet Muhammad had offered two rakaat here and observed a long prostration.



25.Masjid Quba:- 
This is the first mosque in the history of Islam whose foundation stone was laid down by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself on his migration to Madinah. To offer 2 raka’ats of nafl in it is equal to one Umrah.

26.Jabal-e-Uhad:-

 About 4 miles or 7 kms on the north of Madinah, famous battle of Uhad was fought at 3 A.H. Hadhrat Hamza, the Holy Prophet’s uncle and other companions are buried here.


27.Jabal-e-Salaa:- 

This is the site for the battle of Ditch which was fought in 5 A.H. Now there are six mosques at this place. Badar The plain of Badar is 20 miles south west of Madinah where the first battle between 313 Muslims and 1000 Qureish of Makkah took place in 624 A.D. The battle of Badr was the most important among the Islamic battles of Destiny.


28.Mazraa Salman Farsi:-

This is the garden where Salman Farsi work when he was slave until he become independent by prophet.It is located near Quba.


29.Khak e Shifa:-

It is located near Salman Farsi garden.It is called khak e shifa because this sand has said to be the shifa for muslims by prophet.

30.Jannat ul Baqee:-

 (Baqeea Al Garqad) near masjid e nabvi where many companions were burried.Most famous are: Wives of the Messenger Peace of Allah be upon him except Khadeejah and Maymoanah, Usman Bin Afan who is buried at the end of the first Baqeea,known as “Jish Kowkab”, Ali Zain Alabideen and his son Jaafar Al Saddiq and his son Ismaeel, Abdul Rahman Bin Auf  who promised Othman Bin Mazaun to be buried near him, Safiyah Bint Abdul Motalib the aunt of the messenger Peace of Allah be upon him, Aqeel Bin Abi Talib and with him is his nephew Abdullah Bin Jaafar, Hassan Bin Ali and his mother Fatimah May Allah be Pleased with her, Othman Bin Mazaun who was the first emigrant buried in Al Baqeea, Abbas the uncle of the Messenger Peace of Allah be upon him, Ibraheem son of the Prophet (Peace of Allah be upon him), Fatima Bint Asad the mother of Ali Bin Abi Talib, Imam Malik and his teacher Sheikh Nafia.

Hazrat Amina
The grave of Hazrat Amina,the mother of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is situated near Abwa.Hazrat Amina died when Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) six years old.
